Kangana Ranaut BLASTS Saif Ali Khan For ‘No India Before British’ Remark, Asks, ‘What Was Mahabharata?’
Not very long ago, Saif Ali Khan was at the receiving end of criticism for his statement over the existence of India and the British rule in India.  The Nawab of Pataudi stated that he believes how the concept of India didn’t exist until the British gave it one. And he was, unsurprisingly, both trolled and bashed for his remark. Now, jumping onto the bandwagon is Bollywood actress and staunch nationalist Kangana Ranaut, who, in her recent interview, slammed Saif Ali Khan and also questioned his history knowledge. (ALSO READ - Kangana Ranaut Demands An Apology From Deepika Padukone After Her 'Chhapaak Look Challenge' Video Goes Viral)

The Panga actress questioned Saif by asking, “If there was no Bharat then what was Mahabharat? What did Ved Vyasa write then?” She further countered Saif’s statement and added that Lord Krishna was a part of Mahabharat, which means Bharat did exist at that time as well. She added, “A few people have made their narratives that suit them but Lord Krishna was in Mahabharat, and that means Bharat was there at that time too. All the great kings of 'Bharat' fought the battle then. There was a collective identity even then called 'Bharat'. Now they say that the territories should be different and should be split. But the division in three that happened then, people are still suffering from that.” (ALSO READ - CAA Protest: Saif Ali Khan Subtly Speaks About Secularism, Democracy And Remaining A-Political)

For those unaware, it was during speaking about playing a vicious character in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior that Saif Ali Khan revealed that couldn’t take against a stand against it because he found it ‘delicious’. He had said, “For some reason, I didn’t take a stand. Maybe next time I would. I was very excited to play the role because it’s a delicious role. But when people say this is history, I don’t think this is history. I am quite aware of what the history was. I don’t think there was a concept of India till perhaps the British gave it one. I don’t think there is really any constructive point in arguing about loudly, provided you yourself know why you’re doing it.”

Meanwhile, Panga releases on January 24, 2020.
